Hi! My name is Gianna, and I'm a freelance artist / digital illustrator with a love for expression through art and creativity. My art is a reflection of my personality - fusing my lived experiences as a 2nd-generation Filipino-American, with my love for music, sports, nature, film, street, and pop culture.

Tracy, CA
I was born in the Bay Area, but grew up in the Central Valley of California in a little town called Tracy. Living in such a tiny city fostered a desire to create a fantasy land, which I found in art.
Supreme Editing
My family has always been Bay Area Sports Fanatics, and I grew to love and idolize 49ers and Warriors' stars. In 2013, I was inspired to create graphic design edits of my favorite athletes. I taught myself how to use Adobe Photoshop CS6, downloading plug-ins, and creating unique designs of different sports athletes, sharing them on my secret sports edits account -- Supreme Editing.

Vector Art by Gianna
Over the years I have learned how to use Adobe Illustrator, which has further enhanced my desire to pursue graphic design. Eventually, I transitioned into vector artwork using programs Illustrator, Adobe Draw, and ProCreate.
By 2020, I had created logos for a number of small businesses, and made several commissioned digital illustrations for clients.
BrownThought Academy
In 2022, I had the pleasant opportunity of contributing to the non-profit organization, Kultivate Labs, a San Francisco-based Filipino-American initiative to promote opportunities for small business owners, artists, and makers. At BrownThought Academy, I worked as the Social Media Intern to promote the non-profit's events, did outreach to small business-owners for collaboration, and designed flyers and infographics for the organization's social media pages.

Art has always been an outlet for expression, a blank slate to let out my deepest fears and desires, a space for me to process and heal. When I enter a flow state, everything else disappears, and my art becomes medicine.
Moving to the Bay Area and attending college in San Francisco provided an endless well of inspiration -- from graffiti tagged BART cars, to bombed billboards, to interactions with people of different gender, racial, and ethnic identities, the Bay Area has been a powerful motivator for my current work.

"Somber City" (2022)

Currently, in my free time, I have transitioned into physical art and sketching, creating "doodle blasts" with marker, paint, painter pens, and other mixed media, drawing inspiration from street culture, hip hop, counterculture messaging, and pop art.
Ladybug Lifestyle
One of my favorite symbols to draw upon is the ladybug. As a kid, ladybugs were always my favorite little critter, and I believed that picking one up was a good luck charm. I like to think of myself as one – moving freely, and living unapologetically myself.
